Welcome to Hop Forward Equality!
At Hop Forward Equality, our mission is to transform the Massachusetts brewing community into a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable space for all. In collaboration with the Mass Brewers Guild and a network of community partners, we’ve created an online resource hub to support breweries in advancing their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts.
Our platform offers comprehensive resources tailored to meet the unique needs of breweries at any stage of their DEI journey. Whether you’re just starting to form an internal DEI group or looking for best practices to reshape company culture, Hop Forward Equality is here to help.
What We Offer
HopForwardEquality.com provides breweries with the tools they need to create more inclusive workplaces, attract diverse talent, and foster a welcoming environment for everyone. Our resources include:
- HR Best Practices: Guidelines and frameworks to implement equitable hiring processes and build a positive company culture.
- Suggested Reading & Video Library: Curated content to support ongoing learning and growth around DEI topics.
- Training & Workshops: Led by DEI experts, our training sessions cover essential topics such as unconscious bias, effective communication, and creating inclusive spaces.
- Jobs Board: A platform dedicated to promoting job opportunities from breweries that are committed to fair hiring practices, aiming to connect them with a diverse pool of candidates.

Black Brew Dialogues: A New Show Highlighting DEI Efforts
Hop Forward Equality is also home to a local travel show, “Black Brew Dialogues”, hosted by Collin Knight, a Roxbury native and founder of Live Like A Local Tours. Collin is a passionate craft beer enthusiast who uses his platform to highlight diversity and inclusion in the brewing world. In each episode, Collin tours some of the state’s most popular breweries, meets the owners and brewers, and engages in candid conversations about their DEI efforts.
The first episode will feature White Lion Brewing Co., one of the few Black-owned breweries in the state, and will showcase their story and approach to building a more inclusive community. Stay tuned for the show’s launch this spring!
