Beers With(out) Beards: Womxn in Craft Beer Festival

Beers With(out) Beards, launched in 2018 by Grace Weitz of Hop Culture, began as part of her graduate thesis at NYU. Over the past three years, this unique festival has grown into a week-long celebration spotlighting the contributions of womxn in the craft beer industry. With more than 50 womxn-led breweries and over 30 events, it has become a major platform for recognizing achievements across all aspects of the alcoholic beverage sector.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the event transitioned to a digital format in 2020, allowing attendees from around the world to join and celebrate virtually. This year, the second annual digital edition of Beers With(out) Beards continues the tradition, proving that the call for inclusivity in beer is stronger than ever.

The craft beer industry has been predominantly male-dominated, but in recent years, womxn have boldly shared their experiences of sexism and inequality. These voices have sparked a global conversation and garnered support from across the community.

At Beers With(out) Beards, everyone’s voice is valued. For three years, Hop Culture has proudly organized this festival, standing alongside womxn to promote a more inclusive and supportive craft beer industry.
